SCPAAA is made up of volunteers who have completed the Smyrna Citizens Police Academy. The members continue their support to the community by raising funds and promoting safety. They support the Smyrna Police Department by being involved with Cops and Kids for Christmas, Smyrna Christmas parade, National Night Out Against Crime, Great Tennessee Air Show, Halloween in the Park plus local sobriety and child seat safety checks.

Smyrna Police Department is requesting help in parking cars at the annual "Halloween in the Park" event to be held at Sharp Springs Park located off Jefferson Pike. Check back here for more infomration as the event gets closer.



From Jonathan Beverly of Fraternal Order of Police (FOP - Stones River Lodge 89) to SCPAAA: Thank you all so much for your help with Dodgeball! It was a huge success with more teams than last year. We were able to raise almost triple what we did last year.

SCPAAA MISSION STATEMENT

Smyrna Citizen's Police Academy Alumni Association consists of graduates of the Academy, who share their knowledge and experiences with the community as the opportunity arises. Everyone benefits from enhancing citizen understanding of the role and function of their police department.

The purpose of the Smyma Citizen's Police Academy Alumni Association is to foster better communication between citizens and police through education. The Academy will create a group of well-informed citizens who possess greater insight into police practices and services.

The Goals of the Smyrna Police Academy Alumni Association:
      A. To facilitate the recruitment of new students for the Smyrna citizen's Police Academy.
      B. To seek out and recruit sponsors for the Smyrna Citizen's Police Academy proglam.
      C. To serve in an advisory capacity to the Police department with respect to matters pertaining to the Citizen's Police Academy.
      D. To research and advise on new haining programs or other issues relating to the Alumni Association members.
      E. To serve in a support capacity with the Police Department and the Citizens of Smyrna in implernenting the needs of the Police Department.

To promote the professional development of information, instruction, guidance and assistance to Public Safety Agencies and Citizens involved or interested in the Citizens Police Academy vision and concept.
